Why “we recognize our own” is a real thing:
So you wanna be a bottle girl?
Well, you don’t wanna be just any bottle girl you wanna be, THE BOTTLE GIRL
Well, before you become the it girl, you have to be one yourself. Remember, you are representing your venue yourself even as a brand.
Most would think that bottles make a whole ton of money and yes, some of us do. I came from the biggest club of San Francisco at 10:15 Folsom, but it wasn’t always like this. I haven’t work my way out from the smallest littlest club in San Francisco.
So how does all matter and does this matter?
Because everything truly in the nightlife in industry is about your reputation
You can be that mean bottle girl that wants to go from club to club to club and that no one likes
Or
You could be the girl that climbed of the ladder because of everyone she knew and everyone who liked her
There’s so many different versions of bottle girls and I promise you being a mean girl is only just a bit of it, because most of us are not
You are dealing with a team rather than just dealing with yourself
You are finding people, strengths and weaknesses and in this industry, you will have catty girls
However, the best drink you could have is sales.
And a really good network
Once you walk into a club, your kindness will take you a long way
Do not be entitled in any way you are not above anyone.
As I started as a bottle girl at Arena SF I would walk in and greet everyone and give them a hug. Eventually, the what the DJ said I worked with became top DJs of their industry.
Men who were in security, began to own clubs
There’s even bottle girls that were liked so much that they even damn near ran the venue and became the biggest bottle of girls in the industry in San Francisco.
Every bottle girl that I have gotten along with from my first humble beginnings as a bottle girl has stepped up to the biggest clubs
Mine was the biggest 1015 Folsom
We had the grand
And Yolo
What I can tell you that I found in their traits is that they were very sweet woman and very helpful
The best way to move up as a bottle grow is to be very kind even when you have the mean girls talking a lot of shit it’s to be the neutral kind one
Every one of us are princesses, but there are only a few princesses that can actually run a kingdom
Remember being a bottle girl means that you’re also a sales woman
You’re learning to articulate the floor you’re looking at different groups and trying to find who you can actually sell a bottle too nonetheless you are a promoter
Being able to be memorable as a bottle girl will take you a long way because your reputation means everything, especially in this industry if you decide to move further within it
Because you never know when someone mentions your name and they remember your work ethic and how kind you are
That’s when you begin to have people who support you
Regardless, where you go in this industry respect is the number one key to all this
And most of the bottle girls nowadays don’t even show anyone a sense of attention nor bat of an eye
Even if you’re not even selling a bottle
Networking is your key component to leveling up
You never know who you will meet or you’ll never know who knows the person you’ve just met
But your first initial impression will lead you along way
Then, after you build up that you learned to meet everybody in the industry by going to additional events, from the people you met with the nightlife, you begin your create a larger network
I would suggest that you have some clean head shots and body shots of you holding bottles, and diving into a niche of modeling
So that now you’re not just a large bottle bro you’re now someone with additional substance that makes you a lot different from everyone else that’s copy and paste
Even so guess what you’re also known to be the very cool girl that everyone likes
Everyone knows about you in the industry they know your niche and now when they think of a club, they think of who? You
I got signed a few months after that to magazine and car sponsorships …
I’ve been in California under 2.5 years and now I’m on OFTV due to my network
Now, when your next applying to the next position to a bigger club, they already know who you are because you’ve been seen at events, you’re on social media platforms of the other clubs that you were at
Also, you’ll be hosting additional events
I was able to host events in two months of being in the bay
Your best friends are your peers
And I mean, treat bar backs, DJs, promoters bartenders, security, management everyone with respect. And that’s how you will grow.
And now guess what? Who’s the girl at the venue? That’s you?
So this all comes from core values
Respect and kindness will take you a long way and bottle service even if it’s creating clientele
Your network is your net worth
And when you treat it like a business, then everybody will watch you flourish
Even if you’re down your network, is your net worth.
Most of us seemed like we were entitled, but the ones that showed the true kindness are the ones that stood out and began to flourish within the industry.
